Our client is a US multifamily real estate investment firm. They buy and renovate apartment communities across the US Sun Belt, working with private investors.
About the Role
As a Property Accountant, you will run month-end close for a portfolio of 8-10 multifamily properties. You will own the reporting packages, reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger review for each property.
You will join a growing accounting team and work with property managers and the AP and AR teams. The team works in property management platforms such as Entrata and Yardi and communicates through Microsoft Teams.
This role suits an experienced property accountant who works independently. You spot and fix common issues such as double accruals and reclasses on your own, try to solve problems before escalating, and ask focused questions when you need guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Run month-end close for a portfolio of 8-10 multifamily properties.
Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for each property.
Complete bank reconciliations for all assigned properties.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve variances.
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclasses.
Review the general ledger to catch and correct errors such as double accruals or misclassified entries.
Work with property managers to gather information and resolve accounting questions.
Coordinate with the AP and AR teams to keep property records accurate and complete.
Solve routine issues on your own and bring only key questions to the team.
Requirements
3-5+ years of property accounting experience, with the ability to work autonomously
Multifamily real estate accounting experience.
Hands-on financial reporting experience, including monthly reporting packages.
Multi-property month-end close experience, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and GL review.
Hands-on experience with Entrata.
Advanced English for daily written and spoken work with a US team.
Nice to Have
Strong hands-on experience in Yardi.
Experience with AppFolio.
Proactive, quick learner who figures things out independently.
Tools & Systems

AppFolio: property management and accounting platform.
Microsoft Teams: daily communication and calls with the team.
Compensation & Benefits
$2,000 - $3,200 monthly in USD, depending on seniority
100% remote opportunity for professionals based in Latin America.
8 am - 5 pm (PST or CST)
10 days PTO + US Holidays
