At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
Our client is a San Francisco-based accounting and consulting firm that supports startups and US subsidiaries of European companies with accounting, finance and operations.
Join our US client and help their Principal focus on the work that creates the most value for the firm. We are looking for an Executive Assistant to take email and day-to-day administrative tasks off his plate, so he can spend more time with clients, prospects and strategic projects.
This is a hands-on role for a proactive and trustworthy professional who is comfortable making decisions, managing up and working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Manage and triage the Principal's inbox, distributing incoming requests to the right team members and flagging what needs his attention.
Draft preliminary responses to clients, prospects and the team for his review.
Manage his calendar and schedule meetings and calls.
Handle ad hoc client requests, such as pulling records and preparing emails to clients or their tax CPAs.
Support the firm's internal bookkeeping, including billing and recording expenses.
Track tasks and follow-ups in the firm's practice management tool.
Support light office and HR-related tasks, such as coordinating small team initiatives.
Book travel occasionally when needed.
3 to 5 years of experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar administrative role, ideally supporting a founder or executive.
Advanced written and spoken English, with the ability to draft clear, professional emails to clients and teams.
Absolute trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information.
A proactive and decisive approach, comfortable making decisions with the information available and keeping things moving.
Basic accounting, bookkeeping or billing knowledge.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to learn recurring processes quickly.
Nice to have: experience in a startup environment, experience working in or with an accounting firm, and experience with QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, Microsoft 365 and AI tools such as Claude.
Competitive compensation in US dollars.
Compensation range: $2,000 – $2,500 USD per month.
Please note that the final salary offer may vary based on the candidate's seniority, specific skill set, and performance throughout the evaluation and interview process.
Full-time, remote role, with core hours in the morning starting around 5:00 AM Pacific Time and flexibility to check in during the afternoon for urgent requests.
Flexible time off, ideally outside month-end and quarter-end periods.
Up to 10 observed holidays per year, combining US and local holidays.
