Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a Los Angeles–based influencer marketing and creator management agency. They connect leading consumer brands, including major names in sportswear, e-commerce and fashion, with content creators on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. They also manage a roster of creators directly. The team is lean, entrepreneurial and culture-driven, with members in the US and overseas. Their campaigns are run at scale for US brands targeting US audiences.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Account Director to own the agency’s brand partnerships book and lead the team that executes its influencer campaigns. This person will be the senior point of contact for brand clients, run campaigns end to end, and be accountable for growing accounts and keeping a healthy pipeline of brand opportunities.
The ideal candidate has already worked as an Account Director (or equivalent) at an influencer marketing agency. They have led a team, know the US creator ecosystem inside out, and can get on a call with a client and win them over from day one. This is a player-coach role: you’ll carry key accounts yourself while delegating day-to-day execution to a team of campaign coordinators. We’re looking for someone proactive who brings new ideas, understands the competition, and helps the agency level up its processes, tools and creative strategy.
This is a remote, full-time contractor role aligned with US Pacific Time business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own a roster of brand accounts and concurrent campaigns as the senior point of contact.
- Lead client communication across Slack, email and video calls, with fast, clear responses.
- Grow and level up existing accounts by driving renewals, upsells and scope expansion, and keep a healthy pipeline of new brand opportunities.
- Turn brand goals and KPIs into campaign strategies and clear internal briefs.
- Run influencer campaigns end to end: brief, creator sourcing and vetting, contracting, content approvals, go-live and reporting.
- Negotiate creator rates, deliverables, usage rights, exclusivity and whitelisting terms.
- Ensure FTC disclosure and brand safety compliance on every campaign.
- Manage and develop a team of campaign coordinators. Delegate execution, quality-check output before it reaches clients, and run weekly check-ins.
- Own campaign budgets and margins, and coordinate creator payments and client invoicing with finance.
- Build and improve campaign SOPs, templates and tracking, and bring in new tools (including AI) to make the team more efficient.
- Deliver campaign recaps with performance data and recommendations for future activations.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in influencer marketing, with your most recent experience agency-side.
- Previous experience as an Account Director (or equivalent senior role) at an influencer marketing or advertising agency.
- 2+ years leading or managing a team (coordinators, account managers or campaign managers).
- Proven track record managing multiple brand accounts and campaigns at once, and growing them over time.
- Deep knowledge of the US creator and influencer ecosystem, including creator rates, platform trends and FTC guidelines.
- Hands-on experience negotiating creator deals, including usage rights, exclusivity and whitelisting.
- Strong understanding of short-form and platform-native content on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
- Comfortable with platform analytics and building performance reports.
- Very fluent English, both written and verbal (accents are totally fine). You’re confident leading client calls on video.
- Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented and accountable.
- Availability to work full-time, roughly 9:30/10 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time.
- Experience with fashion, beauty or lifestyle brands and creators is a strong plus.
- Experience at a recognized influencer marketing agency (e.g. Influential, Edelman, Ketchum or similar) is a plus.
- Experience managing remote or offshore team members is a plus.
- Existing relationships with brands and creators is a plus.
Perks – What’s in It for You?
- Flexible PTO (around 2 weeks per year).
- Remote, full-time contractor position.
- Work aligned with US Pacific Time business hours.
- Opportunity to work directly with the agency’s leadership and own a whole department.
- High-ownership seat with real authority over client relationships, campaign quality and how the team operates.
