About Us
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client
Our client is an HR tech company based in Indiana that connects companies with college students and early talent through internship, mentorship, and project programs. Founded in 2014 and backed by startup accelerators, they run large-scale programs such as the full summer intern class of a global consumer brand (about 250 interns), and they also build AI products for their own clients.
As the platform grows and adds new AI-driven capabilities, they are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to own the user experience of their platform for the first time.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to turn product direction into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI. Your first big projects will be a revamp of the platform’s admin panel and the design of new AI agents and features that the company plans to roll out over the next 6 to 12 months.
You’ll work every day with the CTO and the developers. Your specs need to be clear enough that engineers can build without guessing: what each button does, how screens connect to the back end, and every state, edge case, and error. A graphic designer on the team supports visual polish, so your focus will be interaction and product thinking.
The ideal candidate is a senior designer who owns work end to end, explains design decisions clearly, and understands front-end code well enough to know what is technically possible. The more technical, the better.
Responsibilities
- Turn product direction into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for web and mobile
- Lead the redesign of the platform’s admin panel
- Design new AI agents and AI-driven features for the platform
- Write detailed specs for developers covering interactions, states, edge cases, validation, and errors
- Define how each element behaves and how it connects to the back end
- Work daily with the CTO and developers to validate what is technically possible
- Build and maintain the platform’s design system in Figma
- Run light user research to guide design decisions
- Collaborate with the graphic designer to finalize visual details
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience designing web and mobile products, with a portfolio that shows your process from start to finish
- Advanced Figma skills and hands-on experience building design systems
- Proven ability to write detailed developer specs: flows, states, edge cases, errors, and what each element does
- Working knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS, React) to judge what is technically possible
- A clear design methodology and the ability to explain the reasoning behind your decisions
- Advanced English (around 90% proficiency or higher); accents are perfectly fine
- Experience designing platforms used by enterprise users or admins (a plus)
- Experience designing AI agents or AI-driven features (a plus)
- Experience with e-learning products (a plus)
- Design thinking, Scrum, or Agile experience (a plus)
- Experience doing user research for digital products (a plus)
