Senior Salesforce Developer
About Us
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company
Our client is a growing US-based company headquartered in Minneapolis. It is building a new, small technology team under its CTO to strengthen its core systems and data.
About the Role
As Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be the go-to Salesforce expert on the team. You will start by auditing the current setup, which was built by an outside consultancy about a year ago, and reporting what works, what needs fixing, and where money is being wasted.
Salesforce use is growing fast. A new VP of Sales and a new project management and third-party billing division want to do much more with it. You will work with business unit leaders to understand their requests, judge what is realistic, and turn those requests into clear technical plans. You will stay hands-on, building and changing things in Salesforce yourself. The role has no people management.
This role is for an experienced developer who has done this work before and can run with it without close guidance. You communicate clearly with teammates, business leaders, and executives, and you think beyond the immediate request to how each change affects the rest of the system. This is a long-term role on a permanent team.
Key Responsibilities
Audit the current Salesforce setup and report on what works, what needs attention, and unused or unneeded modules.
Build and maintain Salesforce features using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Flow.
Gather requirements from business unit leaders and turn them into clear technical specifications.
Assess new requests, judge whether they are doable and worth the cost, and recommend the best approach.
Clean up and document past changes made by internal users, and prevent changes that break other processes.
Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other systems through APIs.
Support data flow from Salesforce into the company's data warehouse and lakehouse.
Apply sound development practices, including testing, QA, and user acceptance testing.
Present findings and recommendations to the CTO, teammates, and senior leadership.
Take over day-to-day Salesforce operations currently handled by temporary contractors.
