Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a fast-growing, founder-led consumer brand in the wellness and self-care space. They are the #1 brand in their category on Amazon. They generate eight figures in annual revenue, with about 70% of sales on Amazon, 20% through major US retailers and 10% through their own e-commerce site. The business is highly seasonal: more than 60% of yearly revenue comes in Q4, so getting inventory to the right place, on time and at the right cost directly drives results.
About the Role:
Join our US client on their mission to help people relax and restore through everyday self-care. We are looking for a Senior Logistics Manager to own how products move from suppliers in China, Korea and the US to Amazon, retail partners and end customers, at the lowest total cost that still hits the date.
This is a senior, hands-on role, and its core is cost. You’ll source every international and domestic shipment through a bench of freight vendors, pick the best option and keep finding savings. You’ll work closely with the founder and leadership team, flagging issues early and always bringing a recommended fix.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and manage a bench of freight vendors (forwarders, carriers, customs brokers and 3PLs) for international and domestic lanes.
Source competing quotes for every shipment and select the most cost-effective option that meets the deadline. This covers ocean and air freight from China and Korea to the US, plus domestic LTL/FTL and parcel.
Negotiate rates with vendors and benchmark them against suppliers’ DDP pricing.
Coordinate with the US customs broker to keep import documentation accurate and duties correct.
Audit freight, 3PL and broker invoices against contracted rates, and file claims for overcharges.
Plan and create inbound shipments to Amazon FBA and AWD to prevent stockouts and avoid excess storage fees. This includes managing capacity limits, IPI and inbound placement fees.
Resolve Amazon inbound issues such as stranded inventory, receiving discrepancies, lost or damaged units and reimbursement claims.
Route retail purchase orders (Walmart, Target and others) according to each retailer’s routing guide, meeting ship windows and ASN/EDI requirements to avoid compliance chargebacks.
Maintain a weekly shipment tracker and an up-to-date landed cost per unit for each SKU.
Report delays, risks and cost overruns proactively, with a recommended solution.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain for a consumer brand selling on Amazon, ideally at $10M+ in revenue.
Proven track record running freight bids across multiple vendors and negotiating rates, with measurable cost savings you can share.
Hands-on Amazon Seller Central inbound experience (FBA shipment creation, AWD, carrier and labeling requirements).
Experience importing from Asia (ideally China and Korea) into the US by ocean and air, including Incoterms (FOB, DDP) and US customs basics.
Experience with US domestic freight: LTL/FTL and parcel.
Experience routing POs for at least one major US retailer (Walmart, Target, Costco, CVS, Ulta or similar) and handling chargebacks.
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including landed-cost models and shipment trackers.
An ownership mindset: you raise problems early and come with solutions.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to Have:
Experience with a seasonal brand that does most of its volume in Q4.
Experience with EDI platforms (e.g., SPS Commerce) and retailer portals (Walmart Retail Link, Target Partners Online).
Experience with Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) and multichannel 3PLs.
Previous experience at a freight forwarder, carrier or 3PL.
An existing network of forwarders and carriers.
Perks – What’s in It for You?
Competitive compensation in US dollars.
Fully remote role working US business hours.
US holidays
Excellent and dynamic work environment
