Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
A creative talent agency that connects artists with clients for events, campaigns and productions. Its team manages bookings end to end, working closely with agents, artists and clients to make every project run smoothly.
About the role
We're looking for an AR Specialist to join our operations team and own the accounts receivable process from start to finish.
This is not a back-office collections role. You'll be fully integrated into the team, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and working closely with our acting controller and operations coordinators. Every invoice is different, so you'll need both strong AR skills and the people skills to handle each client with the right tone.
What you'll do
- Follow up on 400 to 600 invoices per week, with volume expected to grow, making sure every overdue invoice is touched every week.
- Find out why invoices are stuck in a client's system (missing or incorrect POs, uploads, amounts or currency) and work with their AP team to get them paid.
- Handle non-responsive and sensitive accounts, recognizing when communication has stalled and escalating with the right agent.
- De-escalate tense payment situations while protecting the relationship between clients, agents and artists.
- Review batches of invoices before they go out to catch errors and avoid rejections.
- Make invoice and bill revisions in QuickBooks Online as needed.
- Prepare a weekly aging report (30, 60 and 90+ days) with status and recommended next steps.
What you bring
- Experience in accounts receivable or collections, ideally handling a high volume of invoices.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent written and spoken English. You're comfortable on the phone and can connect naturally with clients, agents and artists.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing and correcting invoices.
- A personable, solution-oriented approach to difficult payment conversations.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload efficiently and stay organized.
Schedule, compensation and benefits
- Full-time, remote, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM Central Time.
- Compensation: USD 2,000 to 2,500 per month.
- 7 business days of PTO plus US holidays.
- Laptop provided
