Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a US-based e-commerce agency that manages the full marketplace business for consumer brands, covering catalog, content, retail operations, and advertising across Amazon (Seller Central and Vendor Central), Walmart, and Target. Their clients span CPG, cosmetics, skincare, apparel, footwear, and handbags, and hire them to operate their channels end to end.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Marketplace Operations Manager to own day-to-day marketplace operations for a portfolio of client brands across Amazon, Walmart, and Target. You’ll manage the catalog, content, account health, and operational execution. When a listing is suppressed, you fix it. When a flat file needs to be built, you build it. When a case needs to be opened with Seller Support, you open it and follow it through to resolution.
This is a hands-on execution role, not a strategy or advisory seat. You’ll be in the accounts every day, working closely with your pod’s Senior Account Manager and Account Analysts, and communicating directly with clients on operational matters.
The ideal candidate has years of marketplace operations experience and the pattern recognition to spot problems before they become crises. They are organized, reliable, fast, and proud of operational excellence. As the team grows, there may be opportunities to mentor Account Analysts.
This is a remote, full-time contractor role aligned with US business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the product catalog for assigned client accounts across Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, Walmart Marketplace, and Target Plus.
- Build and maintain product listings end to end, including titles, bullets, descriptions, backend keywords, browse nodes, and item attributes.
- Create, troubleshoot, and upload flat files, inventory files, and bulk listing updates.
- Manage A+ Content builds in coordination with the creative team.
- Resolve suppressed, stranded, or misclassified listings, and manage variations, parent-child relationships, and catalog merges and splits.
- Coordinate product launches, from listing creation and content upload to inventory confirmation and go-live verification.
- Monitor account health daily and proactively resolve policy violations, IP complaints, performance notifications, and enforcement actions.
- Manage pricing, promotions, coupons, deals, and Subscribe & Save enrollment across platforms.
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, stranded and unfulfillable inventory, and FBA shipment issues.
- Open and manage cases with Amazon, Walmart, and Target support teams, following each one through to resolution.
- Monitor Buy Box health and manage Brand Registry, brand protection, and IP enforcement workflows.
- Support new account setup, client onboarding, and platform migrations.
- Provide regular operational updates to the Senior Account Manager and clients, and flag risks early.
- Document processes, playbooks, and SOPs, and keep detailed records of account changes and cases in Basecamp and Slack.
- Participate in daily standups and weekly client calls as the operational subject matter expert.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5–7 years of hands-on marketplace operations experience, with deep expertise in Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central.
- Proven ability to build and manage product catalogs at scale using flat files, bulk uploads, and native platform tools.
- Strong knowledge of Amazon account health metrics, listing compliance, case management, and enforcement resolution.
- Experience creating and managing A+ Content.
- Familiarity with FBA operations, including shipment creation, inventory management, stranded and unfulfillable inventory, and removal orders.
- Experience managing promotions, coupons, deals, and pricing across Amazon and at least one other marketplace.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail across many SKUs and multiple accounts.
- Comfort communicating directly with clients on operational matters.
- Ability to work independently and own your work end to end in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Proficiency using AI tools to speed up research, troubleshooting, and operational workflows.
- Agency experience managing multiple client brands at the same time is a plus.
- Experience with Walmart Marketplace (Seller Center, WFS, item setup) and/or Target Plus is a plus.
- Experience with Vendor Central analytics, purchase orders, chargebacks, and shortage claims is a plus.
- Familiarity with Brand Registry, Project Zero, and Transparency is a plus.
- Experience with tools like Helium 10, DataDive, or Jungle Scout is a plus.
- Background in CPG, beauty, skincare, apparel, footwear, or accessories is a plus.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work full-time aligned with US business hours.
Perks – What’s in It for You?
- 10 days of PTO per year.
- Remote, full-time contractor position.
- Opportunity to manage operations for recognizable consumer brands across Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
- Growth opportunities, including mentoring Account Analysts as the team scales.
- A collaborative pod structure with close support from a Senior Account Manager.
