Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a US-based e-commerce agency that manages the full marketplace business for consumer brands, covering catalog, content, retail operations, and advertising across Amazon (Seller Central and Vendor Central), Walmart Marketplace, Target Plus, and other emerging channels. Their clients span CPG, cosmetics, skincare, apparel, footwear, and handbags, and hire them to operate their channels end to end. The company also runs an AI Agentic Commerce practice, building its own tooling for this work.
About the Role:
We are looking for an Advertising Manager to own the advertising and media program for a portfolio of client brands and lead the team of Advertising Analysts who run it day to day. The analysts handle campaign builds, bid management, optimization, and reporting. This person owns the plan: the strategy, what it costs, what it should return, and how it gets sold to the client.
The work runs on two clocks. Each quarter and year, you’ll build media plans, budgets, and sales forecasts for each brand and get client sign-off. Each week, you’ll review performance with your analysts, decide what to shift, catch problems early, and run the tests that shape the next plan. Amazon is the core focus, and Amazon DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) are central to the role. This is not a Sponsored Products–only position.
The ideal candidate combines deep Amazon Ads expertise with strong judgment under incomplete information, clear client communication, and a habit of reporting results honestly, including the disappointing ones.
This is a remote, full-time contractor role aligned with US business hours, reporting to the Account Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build annual, quarterly, and event-level media plans across Amazon Sponsored Ads, Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect, and Target Roundel, accounting for inventory, retail readiness, competition, and seasonality.
- Own budget forecasting, pacing, and sales forecasts that connect spend to topline results, using scenario ranges with clearly stated assumptions.
- Personally analyze search term, placement, product-level, DSP, and business reports, and use AMC to study path to purchase, audience overlap, frequency, and new-to-brand contribution.
- Learn each brand’s economics (margin, inventory, marketing calendar, decision-makers) and re-plan when goals or constraints change.
- Find untapped demand by testing new search terms, subcategories, competitor conquesting, and new audiences in AMC and DSP, using a structured test-and-scale approach.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Advertising Analysts, setting standards for QA, bulk operations, naming conventions, and documentation.
- Deliver the internal analyst training program and lead its review sessions.
- Present plans, strategy, and performance to client senior leadership, bringing clear recommendations and adapting the message to each audience.
- Partner with internal Strategy & Implementation and Design teams on retail readiness and creative.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Amazon Sponsored Ads (Sponsored Products, Brands, Brands Video, Display) and Amazon DSP campaigns.
- Experience leading digital advertising teams, including coaching, reviewing work, and holding a standard.
- Hands-on experience pulling insights from Amazon Marketing Cloud and acting on them.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to build your own models and reason about incrementality, attribution, and statistical significance.
- Experience with media planning, budget forecasting, and sales forecasting.
- A proven track record of driving new-to-brand acquisition and incremental sales growth, with numbers to back it up.
- Experience presenting media plans to client senior leadership and getting buy-in.
- Working proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) for analysis, planning, and writing, along with a strong habit of checking AI output.
- Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect certifications, or willingness to complete them during onboarding.
- Experience with Looker Studio and SQL (especially for AMC queries) is a plus.
- Experience building AI tools or automations (Gems, scripts, agentic workflows) is a plus.
- Experience with Walmart Connect and/or Target Roundel is a plus.
- Agency or multi-brand portfolio experience is a plus.
- Advanced Excel and bulk operations skills; Python or scripting is a plus.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability to work full-time aligned with US Eastern business hours.
Perks – What’s in It for You?
- 10 days of PTO per year.
- Remote, full-time contractor position.
- Structured onboarding with a dedicated ramp-up period before taking on client accounts.
- A protected weekly planning block to focus on strategy.
- Opportunity to work with leading consumer brands on Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
- Opportunity to build and use AI tooling within an agency investing in agentic commerce.
