Engineering Students & Recent Graduates | Remote | Latin America
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote opportunities with U.S. companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
Our client is a fast-growing U.S.-based home services and energy company focused on delivering high-quality residential installations across multiple markets. The company is building a best-in-class operations team where problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective coordination are essential to success.
Are you an engineering student or recent graduate who enjoys solving problems, figuring out how things work, and making sure things get done?
We're looking for an Entry-Level Operations Engineer to help coordinate residential installations, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure projects move smoothly from installation through inspection, quality approval, and final completion.
This is an opportunity to put your engineering knowledge into practice and build your career in technical operations. Whether you're still completing your degree or have recently graduated, you can apply. No previous professional experience is required. We're looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset, a proactive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
You'll work closely with electricians, installers, homeowners, vendors, and internal teams to identify issues, coordinate solutions, review installation quality, and keep projects moving forward.
This is a dynamic, hands-on operational role where you'll learn by solving real-world problems, collaborating with experienced field teams, and taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.
Coordinate multiple residential installations and support field crews throughout the day.
Help troubleshoot installation issues and work with technicians, electricians, and installers to find practical solutions.
Review job-site photos and documentation to identify potential quality issues and incomplete work.
Track open issues and follow up with the right people to ensure they are resolved.
Help coordinate follow-up visits, inspections, and corrections when work needs to be completed or adjusted.
Support quality reviews and ensure installations meet the required standards before final approval.
Communicate with field teams, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to keep everyone aligned.
Help resolve installation-related concerns and escalate issues when needed.
Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and proactively communicate risks.
Maintain accurate records of job status, outstanding tasks, and required next steps.
Identify recurring problems and contribute ideas to improve operational processes.
Take ownership of assigned jobs and help move them from scheduled installation through final closeout.
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field), or recently graduated.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
A proactive, hands-on mindset and eagerness to learn.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different people and teams.
A sense of ownership and willingness to follow through on tasks.
The ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing situations, and think critically.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where practical solutions matter.
Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate confidently with U.S.-based teams and customers, both verbally and in writing.
Availability to work Monday through Friday, aligned with U.S. field operations hours.
No previous work experience is required. We welcome candidates who can demonstrate their skills and potential through university projects, coursework, extracurricular activities, student organizations, personal projects, internships, or other relevant experiences. You don't need to have experience in construction, energy, or field operations to apply.
Exposure to engineering, construction, operations, logistics, or technical support through coursework, projects, internships, or other activities.
Basic familiarity with electrical systems, residential installations, construction processes, or technical documentation.
Experience managing academic projects, coordinating teams, or working toward deadlines.
Interest in quality control, process improvement, or troubleshooting.
Familiarity with spreadsheets, project tracking tools, or operational software.
Interest in renewable energy, solar, home services, or field operations.
These are advantages, not requirements. We're interested in your potential, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to learn, not just your work history.
Competitive compensation.
100% remote work as an independent contractor.
An opportunity to launch your engineering career with a fast-growing U.S.-based company.
Hands-on exposure to real-world engineering and operational challenges.
The opportunity to work directly with technical teams and experienced operations professionals.
Room to grow your responsibilities and develop your career as the company scales.
A collaborative, fast-paced environment where your work has a direct impact.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, aligned with U.S. field operations needs. Flexibility may be required to support active installations, inspections, homeowner availability, and operational escalations.
