At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client, Rankings.io, is a law firm marketing agency. Its founder and CEO, Chris Dreyer, leads the Personal Injury Mastermind (PIM) podcast brand, which publishes PIM Magazine.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Editorial Designer to own the design and production of PIM Magazine from concept through final delivery. Working with the Creative Manager and editorial team, you’ll turn stories, photography, and other assets into a cohesive publication. This is a creative ownership role, not simply a layout or production position.
You Will:
Develop each issue’s visual direction with the Creative Manager.
Concept and design covers, feature stories, opening spreads, tables of contents, and other editorial components.
Use typography, imagery, graphics, and layout to strengthen visual storytelling across the magazine.
Build and maintain organized InDesign files, grids, templates, master pages, and style systems.
Manage revisions, design deadlines, and production through final delivery.
Prepare press-ready files, including bleeds, color profiles, image resolution, and preflight checks.
Package and organize source files and assets.
Collaborate with writers, editors, marketers, photographers, and other creative partners; present design concepts and incorporate feedback.
Support select long-form editorial projects outside the magazine when capacity allows.
About You:
Your Background:
5+ years of professional graphic design experience, including significant editorial or publication design work.
A portfolio with 3–5 examples demonstrating strong magazine, book, report, or other long-form publication design.
Advanced Adobe InDesign proficiency and strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
Exceptional typography, composition, hierarchy, and layout skills.
Experience taking publications from early concept through final print production, including preparation of press-ready files.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills and availability to collaborate during U.S. business hours.
Independence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple rounds of feedback against firm deadlines.
Nice to Have:
No additional nice-to-have qualifications were specified.
