Payer Contract Enrollment Specialist
Remote (Latin America-based)
Compensation: $2,200–$3,200 USD/month, depending on experience
Full-time, Eastern Time working hours, Contractor
Systems: CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, payer portals
At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client is a fast-growing virtual behavioral health company delivering telehealth psychiatric care. Their revenue cycle team covers insurance contracting, provider credentialing and billing, and the company is expanding its commercial payer network.
About the Role:
We're looking for a detail-oriented Payer Contract Enrollment Specialist to own commercial insurance network contract enrollment. You'll apply to insurance companies for network participation so the company's psychiatrists and nurse practitioners can see patients under those contracts.
This is an individual-contributor role for someone who has handled new contract enrollment, follows a detailed SOP and gets applications right the first time. Every application matters: an error can set a contract back by months, so accuracy comes before speed.
You Will:
Prepare and submit new contract enrollment applications to commercial payers, following a detailed SOP.
Apply for the right billing codes and panels for each payer.
Navigate payer portals and regulatory requirements, and work with payer representatives to keep applications moving.
Track the status of every application, follow up until it is approved and escalate files that stall.
Keep provider and enrollment information accurate and up to date in CAQH, NPPES, PECOS and enrollment trackers.
Hand accepted contracts and reimbursement fee schedules to the credentialing and billing teams so providers can be enrolled and bill.
Flag payer requirements or delays early to avoid setbacks in provider onboarding.
About You:
Your Background:
2–4 years of hands-on experience with new contract enrollment for commercial payers, not only credentialing.
Experience working directly with health insurance companies on network enrollment or payer contracting.
Comfortable navigating payer portals (for example Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare) and understanding payer priorities.
Proven ability to follow a detailed SOP and submit accurate applications the first time.
Track record of tracking applications and chasing them to completion.
Fluent English communication skills and comfort working with U.S.-based teams.
Comfortable working remotely during Eastern Time business hours.
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented, organized and careful, with accuracy as the top priority.
Persistent and proactive in following up with payers and escalating stalled files.
Able to manage assigned applications independently while collaborating across teams.
Clear, professional communicator with payer representatives and internal teams.
Comfortable working from a documented process and open to learning new payer requirements.
Nice to Have:
Behavioral health or psychiatry enrollment experience.
Hands-on experience with CAQH, NPPES and PECOS.
Background in a telehealth or virtual care company.
Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes and U.S. HIPAA requirements.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: $2,200–$3,200 USD/month, depending on experience.
Contractor engagement.
