At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Role
Our client is a profitable company with a strong, capable accounting team, and we're looking for an Accountant to join them and help take things to the next level. You'll report directly to, and work closely with, the VP, Corporate Controller — learning their revenue process, assisting with month-end close, and partnering on account reconciliations, while also helping shape how their accounting function operates day to day. This is a role for someone senior in experience and mindset: someone who works independently brings good judgment to their work and is motivated to improve processes rather than simply maintain them. We'd also love someone who has embraced AI tools in their own work and, ideally, has helped their team do the same.
You Will
Learn our revenue process and help ensure it runs smoothly and is recognized in accordance with ASC 606
Assist with month-end close entries
Partner with the VP, Corporate Controller on account reconciliations, including clean-up related to a business unit split and ensuring all accounts are reconciled, documented and follow appropriate review channels.
Support accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and help build the solutions
Collaborate closely with our internal team, communicating clearly and effectively
Bring AI tools into daily accounting work, and help drive their adoption across the team

Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Familiarity with AR, AP, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial documentation.
Ability to work independently and follow through without close supervision.
Curiosity about how the business works and confidence asking questions when something is unclear.
Experience using AI to improve workflows or build schedules; experience building agents is a bonus.
Nice to Have
Big 4 or other public accounting experience, particularly exposure to audit requirements.
CPA qualification.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $2,500 - $3,000 USD/month, depending on experience.
Paid time off: Approximately two weeks, plus U.S. holidays; final details to be confirmed.
