At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client, Whitehorse Partners, is an M&A advisory firm focused primarily on sell-side transactions for privately held businesses. Their clients are often business owners navigating the sale of their company for the first time, making clear communication, discretion, and strong organization essential throughout the process.
The team is fully remote and works closely across transactions that typically involve complex diligence processes, multiple stakeholders, and high volumes of sensitive documentation.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an M&A Transaction Associate to coordinate buyer due diligence from Letter of Intent through closing. You will be a central point of contact between sellers, advisors, buyer diligence teams, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple urgent priorities. Prior M&A experience is helpful but not required; strong communication, ownership, and transaction coordination skills are most important.
You Will:
Coordinate due diligence workstreams, timelines, deliverables, and follow-ups from LOI through closing.
Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for sellers, advisors, buyer teams, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
Consolidate diligence requests into organized trackers, including owners, deadlines, dependencies, and response status.
Review and prioritize incoming requests with sellers and seller-side advisors.
Maintain virtual data rooms, including document naming, indexing, uploads, permissions coordination, and version control.
Organize and track large volumes of documentation, ensuring files and communications are accurate and professionally presented.
Follow up proactively on open items and help move requests toward resolution.
Attend transaction calls and provide clear updates on diligence status, deadlines, bottlenecks, and outstanding items.
Escalate legal, financial, negotiation, or other substantive issues to the appropriate senior team member.
Build trusted, professional relationships with clients during a high-stakes and often stressful transaction process.
Grow into independently owning sections of a deal and leading coordination meetings.
About You:
Your Background:
2+ years of experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven client service, document management, transaction coordination, administrative, or request-management role.
Experience communicating professionally with clients, executives, advisors, attorneys, accountants, or other external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills; clear professional communication is essential.
Advanced organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing needs, and working independently.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and cloud-based document-management tools.
Comfortable working full-time remotely with autonomy, accountability, and responsiveness.
Able to work with urgency, follow through consistently, and prioritize effectively without becoming overwhelmed.
Comfortable communicating through both email and phone calls.
Reliable home-office setup, internet connection, and PC laptop.
Nice to Have:
Experience in M&A, due diligence, corporate finance, business brokerage, financial services, or transaction advisory.
Experience in paralegal work, real estate closings, loan or mortgage processing, accounting, or other document-intensive transactions.
Familiarity with virtual data room platforms.
Familiarity with financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
Experience supporting confidential, client-facing processes involving sensitive financial or business information.
Experience working with U.S.-based clients or in a remote international environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: $3,000–$4,500 USD/month, depending on experience.
Deal-close bonus structure.
Approximately 10 days of paid time off per year.
External monitor provided; candidate should have their own PC laptop.
Opportunity for long-term growth, increased ownership, and deeper involvement in M&A transactions.
