At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client is a New York-based technology company that helps families navigate estate settlement after the death of a loved one, while supporting attorneys working alongside them. The company simplifies a process that often involves months of paperwork, deadlines, and phone calls during an already difficult time.
The team is fast-moving, collaborative, and global. Its work must feel warm and clear for grieving families, precise for attorneys, and trustworthy enough to handle highly sensitive personal and financial information.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Jr Motion Designer and Video Editor to own the company’s video and motion output. You’ll edit product demos, talking-head videos, and interviews; produce animated explainers; and create short-form social and campaign content.
You’ll need strong judgment and restraint. The work should feel calm, clear, premium, and human—not overly energetic or sales-driven. This role is focused on motion and video; a separate visual designer will own landing pages, decks, and print materials.
You Will:
Edit product demos and screen recordings into clear, polished videos for families, attorneys, and the sales team.
Turn raw talking-head, founder, team, and attorney footage into finished video content.
Create animated explainers that simplify estate settlement processes and the company’s product.
Produce short-form video content for LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, launches, and campaign testing.
Add captions, lower thirds, transitions, color correction, music, sound effects, and clean audio mixing.
Create lightweight in-product animations, transitions, and Lottie assets.
Build reusable motion templates, title cards, caption styles, and editing systems for faster, consistent output.
Collaborate with the visual designer and US-based team to maintain brand consistency.
About You:
Your Background:
Professional experience in video editing and motion design.
Strong working knowledge of Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Proficiency in After Effects for motion graphics, animated type, and simple object or character animation.
Strong audio-editing skills, including dialogue cleanup, music selection, and basic mixing.
A portfolio or reel that includes both real-footage editing and animated work.
Ability to share at least one full-length video sample in addition to a reel.
Comfortable using Figma to access brand assets, storyboard, and stay aligned with the visual system.
Strong instincts for pacing, timing, typography in motion, and knowing when not to animate.
Strong written and spoken English.
Resourceful, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects from raw footage to final delivery.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Lottie, Rive, or lightweight in-product animation.
Experience with 3D tools such as Blender or Cinema 4D.
Strong sound-design skills.
Strong experience using AI video and audio tools as leverage for ideation, editing, animation, audio cleanup, and faster iteration.
Ability to use AI efficiently while ensuring final work remains thoughtful, polished, brand-aligned, and human.
Experience creating video for legal, financial, healthcare, or other high-trust audiences.
Experience creating content for sensitive or emotionally complex user audiences.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: $1,500–2,000 USD/month, depending on experience.
Approximately 10–14 days of PTO annually.
US holidays are generally observed, with flexibility for important local holidays.
