At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client is a U.S.-based commercial construction company delivering projects from buyout through closeout. Their work includes pre-engineered metal buildings, oil and gas projects, alternative energy, aircraft hangars, and other large commercial construction projects.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager to provide remote, back-end project management support across multiple commercial construction projects. You’ll take ownership of project documentation, coordination, and administrative workflows so on-site Project Managers can focus on site visits, superintendents, and field execution.
This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, communicate confidently with internal teams and subcontractors, and handle complex project details with limited oversight.
You Will:
Manage project documentation and administrative workflows from buyout through closeout.
Support subcontractor sourcing, qualification, insurance verification, bid-related documentation, and follow-up.
Own and maintain budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and related project records.
Review daily reports, including site activity, equipment, subcontractor presence, and manpower.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, superintendents, safety personnel, and subcontractors.
Communicate primarily through Microsoft Teams and email; use phone communication when needed.
Support approximately three to four projects at a time, depending on project size and complexity.
Step in to support Project Managers during absences and help direct project activity when needed.
Progress toward managing portions of smaller projects with limited oversight.
About You:
Your Background:
5+ years of experience in construction project management or a closely related role.
Strong experience in commercial, ground-up construction projects.
Hands-on experience with project paperwork, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor coordination.
Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
Strong written and spoken English, including construction-specific vocabulary.
Comfortable working remotely with a U.S.-based team during Central Time core hours.
High integrity and accountability; willing to communicate issues early and own mistakes.
Confidential, hardworking, proactive, and collaborative.
A team player who is comfortable asking for help and stepping in to support others.
Nice to Have:
Experience with ProjectSight, Procore, and/or Bluebeam.
Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings.
Experience in oil and gas, alternative energy, data centers, aircraft hangars, or similar commercial construction sectors.
Civil engineering background, especially experience relevant to steel and structural construction.
PMP, PMI, or construction project management certification.
Spanish language skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: $3,500–$4,000 USD/month.
Paid Time Off: 10 days annually.
Paid Holidays: U.S. holiday schedule to be provided by the client.
Equipment: Candidate must provide their own computer, headset, and home-office equipment.
