At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client, PostPilot, is an ecommerce technology company and programmatic direct mail platform. They help DTC brands use store and customer data to drive revenue through prospecting, retargeting, win-back, and customer reactivation campaigns.
They are building an internal automation function to create practical AI workflows that improve how revenue teams operate.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an AI Agent Engineer who can build practical AI agents and automations that support internal Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations workflows.
This is not a customer-facing product engineering role. You will identify inefficiencies in business processes, propose solutions, and build automations that help teams move faster and drive revenue more efficiently.
The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, creative, and execution-focused. You should be comfortable working in an ambiguous startup environment, building from scratch, and turning broad business problems into working solutions.
You Will:
- Design, build, test, and ship AI agents and automations for internal business workflows.
- Identify triggers, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities using HubSpot and Metabase data.
- Build workflows, recommendations, and content that support Account Executives, Account Managers, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
- Connect business systems through APIs, webhooks, OAuth, function calling, MCP servers, and automation tools.
- Develop and improve prompts, tools, guardrails, and agent workflows.
- Test agent output, identify failures, and improve reliability through checks, logging, and human review steps.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their processes and build solutions around real workflows.
- Document the agents and workflows you build.
- Prioritize fast, useful delivery and iterate based on adoption and feedback.
- Manage work through sprints, communicate progress clearly, and report on completed work.
About You:
Your Background:
- 3+ years of experience building software, integrations, internal tools, automations, or related technical solutions.
- Experience building and shipping AI agents, automation workflows, or tools that have been used in real business environments.
- Strong understanding of LLM workflows, prompt design, tool/function calling, agent loops, evaluations, RAG, context management, and guardrails.
- Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with CRM and RevOps workflows, especially HubSpot objects, properties, lifecycle stages, workflows, and data quality.
- Comfortable using data to identify business opportunities, including SQL and Metabase.
- Business-level written and spoken English.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-directed and proactive. You can take a broad problem, propose an approach, build a solution, and iterate without a detailed specification.
- Focused, fast-moving, and practical. You know how to prioritize valuable work without getting distracted by unnecessary complexity.
- Comfortable working with messy business systems and imperfect data.
- Strong ownership mentality and the ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.
Nice to Have:
- Python or TypeScript/Node experience.
- Experience with Claude or similar LLM platforms.
- Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, QuickBooks, Slack, Google Workspace, n8n, Zapier, Make, or MCP servers.
- Experience automating sales follow-up, customer retention, cart recovery, upsell, campaign operations, lead management, or other revenue workflows.
- Experience working directly with Growth, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, or Finance teams.
- Experience as a forward-deployed engineer, solutions engineer, internal tools engineer, automation engineer, or RevOps engineer.
- Experience at a SaaS, ecommerce technology, or early-stage startup.
- Experience at seed, Series A, or Series B companies, ideally in lean teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $4,000–$5,000 USD/month, based on experience.
- Full-time contractor role.
- Remote role for candidates based in Latin America.
- Flexible schedule, with availability during standard U.S. working hours for collaboration and responsiveness.
- Local and national holidays in the candidate’s country will be respected.
- Flexible/unlimited paid time off, subject to manager approval and coordination around workload and coverage.
