About Our Client
Our client is a growing U.S.-based solar energy company focused on providing high-quality solar solutions and services. The company operates in a fast-paced field environment where strong operational execution, problem-solving, and coordination are critical to delivering reliable service.
About the Role
We're looking for an MSP Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate field service operations and help ensure issues are resolved efficiently and operations continue running smoothly.
This role is particularly well suited for professionals with experience in MSP (Managed Service Provider) or Telecom Operations, where managing service delivery, coordinating teams, handling escalations, and solving operational issues are core parts of the job.
While the industry is different, the operational model is highly transferable. Instead of managing telecom services and infrastructure, you will be supporting solar field operations.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver and operational leader who can take ownership, coordinate multiple moving parts, and drive issues through resolution.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day field service operations.
- Manage operational issues, escalations, and unexpected challenges from identification through resolution.
- Coordinate field technicians, vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely service delivery.
- Monitor schedules, priorities, field activities, and operational performance.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and identify practical solutions to keep work moving.
- Take ownership of escalated issues and ensure appropriate follow-through.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
- Establish and improve processes, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate multiple teams, priorities, and service requests simultaneously.
- Communicate operational updates, risks, and issues to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Track operational performance and identify trends or recurring issues.
- Help establish accountability and high performance across field operations.
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency as the company grows.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in MSP, Telecom Operations, Field Service, Service Operations, Technical Operations, or a similar environment.
- Previous experience managing operations, service delivery, field teams, or complex operational workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to take ownership and independently drive issues to resolution.
- Experience managing escalations and working under pressure.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams, priorities, and moving parts simultaneously.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and influence others.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Preferred Background
- Experience working for an MSP (Managed Service Provider).
- Experience in Telecom Operations or telecommunications service delivery.
- Experience managing field service or technical operations.
- Experience with dispatch, service coordination, or workforce management.
- Experience managing technicians, engineers, vendors, or field teams.
- Experience with SLA management, escalations, and service delivery.
- Experience in solar, energy, construction, or other field-based industries is a plus.
What’s in It for You?
- Competitive compensation
- 100% remote work as an independent contractor.
- Opportunity to bring your MSP/Telecom operations experience into a growing U.S.-based solar company.
- Opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibility as the company grows.
- Potential path into a formal Field Operations Manager position based on demonstrated leadership and performance.
- Direct impact on the company's field operations and service delivery.
- Collaborative and fast-growing U.S. company environment.
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, based on U.S. business and field operations needs. Flexibility may be required to support operational escalations and field activities.
