Junior Recruiter – Temporary Position

Our client is a well-established US nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Through its community-based programs, the organization helps people build more independent and fulfilling lives.
We are looking for a personable and organized Junior Recruiter to temporarily support urgent hiring needs in the Washington, D.C., and Virginia area.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing the recruiting process for a mission-driven US organization.
You will focus primarily on recruiting entry-level Direct Support Professionals who provide hands-on assistance to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization currently needs support filling approximately 20 open shifts.
You will manage the candidate journey from sourcing and phone screening through interview coordination and offer delivery. The initial assignment is expected to last approximately two months, with the possibility of an extension based on business needs.
Source qualified candidates primarily through Indeed and other recruiting channels.
Review applications and identify candidates who meet the role requirements.
Conduct candidate pre-screenings by phone or Microsoft Teams.
Evaluate candidates’ experience, availability, communication skills, and overall fit.
Schedule interviews between qualified candidates and hiring managers.
Maintain an active and organized pipeline for approximately 20 open Direct Support Professional shifts.
Keep candidates engaged and informed throughout the recruiting process.
Follow up with hiring managers to collect feedback and confirm next steps.
Prepare and deliver employment offers to selected candidates.
Maintain accurate candidate records and recruiting activity in Paycom.
Collaborate with the HR Director, hiring managers, and staffing coordinators.
Create a welcoming experience where every candidate feels respected and valued.
Previous experience in recruiting, talent sourcing, candidate screening, or a similar people-facing role.
Experience conducting phone or video screening interviews.
Advanced English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple candidates and priorities simultaneously.
Availability to work remotely during US Eastern business hours throughout the temporary assignment.
One to three years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
Experience sourcing candidates through Indeed or similar job boards.
Familiarity with Paycom, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Google Drive.
Experience in customer service or recruiting for entry-level, healthcare, nonprofit, or high-volume operational roles.
Competitive Salary in USD, base only, depending on experience.
100% remote contractor position.
Initial temporary assignment of approximately two months, with the possibility of an extension.
Full-time availability preferred, 40 hours per week.
Schedule aligned with US Eastern business hours.
