Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer wellness brand dedicated to empowering people to take charge of their health through high-quality, natural supplements. Their product range supports needs like immunity, gut health, sleep, and joint care. Founded in 2018, the company has built its reputation on transparency and trust, creating a dependable wellness foundation for its customers, and operates internationally with hubs in the US and Germany.
About the Role:
Join our US client on their mission to build a trusted, high-performing wellness brand. We are looking for a Video Editor to join their creative team and take ownership of the paid and organic social video that drives the brand's growth across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as DTC and Amazon eCommerce pages.
This role requires strong direct-response editing instincts: sharp hooks, tight pacing, UGC refinement, captions, motion graphics, and fast creative variations for testing. The ideal candidate understands how editing choices impact CTR, hold rate, and conversion rate, and knows how to use performance data, AI tools, and platform-native creative styles to keep improving output while staying on brand. Success in this role means balancing conversion-focused editing with the brand's identity and performance goals. This is an opportunity to help build the brand's creative engine from an early stage and directly shape what customers see and click on. This role reports to the Creative Director and will work closely with the Marketing team.
Note: This is a remote, nearshore contractor role.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit short-form performance marketing videos for Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and other paid and organic social channels, as well as DTC and Amazon eCommerce pages.
Transform raw UGC, creator footage, testimonials, and product demonstrations into compelling, conversion-focused ads.
Create strong hooks in the first 1–3 seconds that stop the scroll and immediately communicate the core message.
Edit for direct-response performance, using pacing, structure, and visual emphasis to improve CTR, hold rate, watch time, and conversion rate.
Add captions, motion graphics, visual callouts, and on-screen text to reinforce key selling points for sound-off viewers.
Build multiple creative variations quickly by testing different hooks, angles, CTAs, and offer positioning.
Analyze ad performance data to identify which editing choices are driving winning versus losing creative, and apply those learnings to future edits.
Use AI and modern creative tools (avatars, voice cloning, image generation, upscaling, background replacement, auto-captioning) to increase creative output, speed, and efficiency.
Maintain organized project files and version control to support efficient testing and scaling.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Creative Director and Marketing team to develop concepts and contribute new creative angles and testing opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
3–5+ years of professional, hands-on video editing experience (not solely AI-generated work).
Proven experience creating paid social ads for Meta, Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms, with deep Meta knowledge.
Strong portfolio of performance-focused video content.
Skilled in editing UGC, testimonials, creator footage, product demos, and short-form ads.
Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, motion graphics, and platform-native editing.
Solid understanding of CTR, hold rate, watch time, and conversion rate, and how to apply performance data to editing decisions.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar tools, along with AI creative tools.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Experience in eCommerce, DTC, wellness, supplements, or consumer products preferred.
Proficient English level.
