About the Company:

Our client, GMI Latam, operates in the mining/export sector and supports international operations from its Lima office. The company is looking for a senior finance leader to oversee local accounting operations and act as a key point of contact across internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Head of Accounting to lead the financial and administrative operations of GMI Latam. You will serve as the primary liaison between the company, external accounting and payroll providers, the Lima COO, and international stakeholders.

This role requires strong ownership, local accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage core financial operations while supporting occasional administrative needs in a small-office environment.

You Will:

• Lead local accounting operations, including financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

• Manage cash flow, treasury activities, and general accounting processes.

• Oversee payroll administration and coordinate with external payroll providers.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for external accounting, payroll, and tax partners.

• Manage local tax-related responsibilities, including SUNAT compliance, VAT refunds, and tax contingencies.

• Use ERP systems to maintain accurate accounting and administrative workflows.

• Partner directly with the Lima COO and international stakeholders on financial and operational needs.

• Support limited administrative activities, including new-hire onboarding, EPS enrollment, office supplies, and general office coordination.

• Identify process improvements and help strengthen local financial operations.

About You:

Your Background:

• Public Accountant degree is required.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with senior-level ownership of accounting operations.

• Experience in mining, export, or international companies is required.

• Strong experience with financial statements, cash flow, treasury, payroll administration, and general accounting.

• Experience with local accounting and tax processes, including SUNAT compliance, VAT refunds, and contingencies.

• Experience coordinating with external accounting and payroll providers.

• Experience using ERP systems and supporting local payroll administration.

• Advanced English proficiency is required.

• Based in Lima, Peru, with availability to work on-site four days per week.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

• Proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership in an evolving environment.

• Willing to support occasional administrative tasks when needed.

Nice to Have:

• Experience managing or leading an accounting function.

• Experience transitioning payroll activities from external providers to in-house processes.

• Experience working in a small-office environment.

• Familiarity with EPS enrollment and employee onboarding processes.

• Experience supporting international teams across multiple regions.
