At Near
At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client is an innovative fintech and infrastructure company providing the wallet, payroll engine, and compliance layer behind global workforce platforms, Employer of Record (EOR) services, and contractor payments. With robust payment rails and global compliance systems at their core, they empower leading global payroll providers, staffing companies, and talent marketplaces to pay workers compliantly across virtually any market.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Global Payroll Manager who combines operational mastery with grit, precision, and confidence. You’ll own the end-to-end, last-mile execution of payroll cycles across Cadana's global client book, ensuring accurate inputs, timely disbursements, and flawless output delivery. This role requires someone who is deeply detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive—a hands-on operator who learns new country regulations quickly, solves execution discrepancies before they reach clients, and turns complex processes into scalable playbooks.
You Will:
Own payroll accuracy end to end, from preparing inputs to delivering payslips, compliance documentation, and statutory reports on schedule.
Build, maintain, and enforce strict payroll calendars per country and per client.
Confirm client funds are received on schedule and ensure all disbursements are executed accurately and on time.
Serve as the primary internal expert on payroll flow mechanics across all supported countries.
Act as the trusted client-facing point of contact for execution questions and discrepancies, resolving issues before they impact workers.
Rapidly master new country payroll statutes by leveraging self-education alongside in-country legal and advisory networks.
Build and maintain standardized checklists, playbooks, and internal knowledge bases to make execution repeatable and reliable.
About You:
Your Background:
10+ years of hands-on experience executing last-mile payroll operations (not purely strategy, consulting, or sales).
Deep operating experience in complex payroll regimes (such as Brazil, Mexico, or India) involving multi-fund social security, layered statutory taxes, statutory funds, and real-time e-government reporting.
Solid working knowledge of payroll flows across multiple international markets, with comfort navigating cross-border operational differences.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills in English—comfortable handling live operational queries and urgent execution updates.
Resourceful, self-directed learner who proactively digs into source statutes and works effectively with advisory networks.
Process-driven mindset—you prefer building robust checklists and documentation rather than relying on ad-hoc fixes.
High attention to detail and organizational skill, capable of managing overlapping country deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced remote environment.
Nice to Have:
Experience working directly within or alongside global EOR platforms, payroll aggregators, or workforce marketplaces.
Exposure to multi-currency payment operations, wallet-based disbursements, and modern fintech rails.
