At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client is an AI consulting and custom development company helping businesses build practical, AI-enabled software. They partner with clients across industries including finance, manufacturing, and entertainment to deliver custom internal tools and B2B SaaS products.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Design Lead to bring clarity, polish, and strong product thinking to multiple client projects. You’ll be the first dedicated designer on the team, working across three to four projects at a time and collaborating closely with founders, project managers, engineers, and clients.
This role requires someone who can take a product from little or no design to a cohesive, customer-ready experience. You should be proactive, comfortable with context switching, and able to clearly explain your design decisions to non-design stakeholders.
You Will:
Own UI design and execution across multiple client projects, primarily focused on B2B SaaS and internal software products.
Take early-stage or minimally designed products and turn them into clear, cohesive, and polished user experiences.
Assess the appropriate level of design polish for each product based on its users, business needs, and client context.
Create and refine high-quality screens and interfaces using Figma.
Collaborate closely with founders, project managers, and engineers throughout the product development process.
Participate in client meetings and clearly communicate design decisions, recommendations, and rationale to non-design stakeholders.
Develop practical, reusable design patterns and contribute to a lightweight design library that can be applied across projects.
Support occasional creative needs across the company, such as presentations, landing pages, graphics, or website updates.
Experiment with AI tools when useful to accelerate research, exploration, or design workflows.
Your Background:
5+ years of product design experience.
Strong hands-on expertise in Figma.
Proven experience taking products with little or no existing design and turning them into clear, cohesive, and polished experiences.
Strong UI design and execution skills, with a focus on creating high-quality interfaces rather than extensive research or workflow mapping.
C1-level English and confidence in communicating with clients and non-design stakeholders.
Comfortable working across several projects at once and managing frequent context switching.
Able to clearly explain design decisions and collaborate with founders, project managers, engineers, clients, and other non-designers.
Curious about AI and able to demonstrate experimentation with AI tools or workflows.
Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
Experience working in an agency, consulting, or product studio environment.
Experience designing B2B SaaS products or internal tools.
Graphic design, brand design, or other creative asset design experience.
Experience creating reusable component libraries or lightweight design systems/patterns.
Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.
Experience working directly with clients during product delivery.
Compensation & Perks:
Compensation: $3,500–$5,000 USD/month.
12 days of paid time off.
U.S. company holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and a company-wide week off around July 4.
Flexibility to swap applicable U.S. holidays for relevant national holidays.
AI learning stipend.
