Job Description
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
Our client is a US-based professional services company specializing in ERP implementations and business technology solutions. The company helps organizations implement and optimize enterprise software, with Microsoft as its primary ERP partner. Their services include ERP consulting, implementation, and ongoing support for customers across different industries.
Join our US client as a Senior Financial Analyst and become a key member of their Finance & Accounting team. We are looking for an accounting and finance professional who can combine strong accounting knowledge with financial analysis skills.
This is a 50/50 hybrid role: during month-end periods, you will focus more heavily on accounting activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support. Throughout the rest of the month, you will analyze financial reports, identify trends, concerns, opportunities, and potential risks, and help the Finance team understand what is driving changes in the business.
You will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and work closely with the Accounting team and other internal stakeholders.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review account reconciliations and financial information for accuracy and completeness.
Analyze financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, revenue, expenses, and margins.
Identify and investigate trends, variances, anomalies, concerns, opportunities, and potential risks in financial data.
Analyze operational and financial activity to understand the drivers behind changes in areas such as utilization, billing, project activity, and expenses.
Prepare and support the company’s financial reporting package.
Support audit activities by facilitating information requests and providing relevant financial documentation.
Use Excel and, preferably, Power BI to analyze data and create or maintain financial reports.
Identify opportunities to improve and automate reporting and financial processes.
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other internal teams to investigate discrepancies and communicate financial insights.
5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Financial Analysis, or a combination of both.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including journal entries, reconciliations, General Ledger, and month-end close.
Experience analyzing financial statements, P&L, Balance Sheet, variances, and financial trends.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and investigate their root causes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work independently, identify what needs attention, and proactively investigate financial issues.
Experience working with an ERP system; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus, but not required.
Power BI experience is a strong nice-to-have, particularly the ability to create and work with financial reports and dashboards. BI development experience is not required.
Experience with US GAAP is preferred.
CPA or similar accounting certification is a plus.
Proficient English level, both written and verbal.
