Join our US client’s Legal Affairs team as a Legal Assistant and play a key role in supporting day-to-day legal operations within a higher education environment. We are looking for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in regulatory compliance, legal documentation, and deadline management.
In this role, you will work closely with in-house counsel to ensure legal matters, regulatory requirements, documentation, and important deadlines are handled accurately and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to gain exposure to legal operations within the higher education sector.
This is a remote, full-time contractor role.
Manage regulatory compliance tasks, records, and documentation.
Assist in-house counsel with day-to-day legal affairs and administrative matters.
Maintain legal calendars and coordinate important deadlines, filings, and renewals.
Draft, review, and organize legal documents, agreements, and correspondence.
Research legal and regulatory requirements as needed.
Track compliance-related deadlines and follow up on outstanding items.
Organize and maintain confidential legal files and records.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information and documentation required for legal matters.
Support the preparation of reports, summaries, and other materials for the Legal Affairs team.
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or in a similar legal support role.
Experience supporting regulatory compliance activities and documentation.
Experience working directly with attorneys, legal counsel, or an in-house legal team.
Strong legal document drafting, proofreading, and review skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information.
Relevant degree, certification, or academic background in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Remote work from anywhere in Latin America.
