Role Summary
We are looking for a Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant professional who will manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting operations for approximately 25 clients. Responsibilities include recording, reconciling, and reporting financial data, as well as supporting payroll tax remittance, month-end closes, and consolidated reports. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while knowing when to request guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely records.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and consolidated reports.
- Manage payroll tax remittance and basic compliance under GAAP standards.
- Administer accounts payable and payments through Bill.com.
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online (desktop-only experience is not acceptable).
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate data and deliver finalized reports.
- Apply job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) concepts for construction and trade clients (preferred).
- Use project management tools such as Asana, Monday, or ClickUp to organize workload.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive data.
Candidate Profile
Must-Haves
- 5–7 years of experience in bookkeeping or general accounting roles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required).
- Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting and revenue recognition.
- Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proactive mindset, accuracy, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple client accounts.
Nice-to-Haves
- CPA credential or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with job costing, WIP processes, and the construction/trades sector.
- Prior experience in accounting firms or handling multiple clients.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
Schedule
- Standard schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
- Flexibility to increase up to 50 hours during peak workload or when new projects arise.
