About the Role:
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who combines technical mastery with grit and confidence. You’ll oversee day-to-day financial operations, lead a growing team of Staff Accountants, refine operational accounting processes, and collaborate with executive leadership to streamline financial reporting across acquired entities. This role requires someone who is proactive, solution-oriented, takes initiative in the face of ambiguity, and delivers high-quality results even when challenges arise.
You Will:
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Staff Accountants as the department scales across multiple regional entities.
Oversee full-cycle month-end close processes, financial reporting packages, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Develop, refine, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and financial workflows without requiring heavy day-to-day oversight.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) workflows, including bill payment approvals, credit card statement reviews, and AR aging reconciliations.
Take complete ownership of monthly bank reconciliations, daily bank activity monitoring, and cash management reporting.
Assist with system integrations, financial data migrations, and onboarding newly acquired companies into the core accounting environment.
About You:
Your Background:
4+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including proven leadership or direct supervisory experience managing a team (small or large).
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks is required; experience with corporate spend management tools (e.g., Ramp) or major ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Acumatica) is a strong plus.
Full-cycle month-end close expertise, including checklist management, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Experience establishing or improving accounting SOPs, internal controls, and workflow automation.
Excellent communication skills — comfortable working in a distributed, English-speaking environment.
Highly autonomous, adaptable, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
Currently employed or having minimal employment gaps between recent roles.
Nice to Have:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP standards.
Experience in job costing environments such as construction, landscaping, or field services.
Hands-on experience with multi-entity integrations, mergers, or acquisitions.
