Job Description
About Us:
At Near, we help top talent in Latin America find remote roles with US companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About Our Client:
Our client is a specialized solutions provider supporting complex, mission-critical operations through custom technology, software, and systems design. They work on highly tailored projects that combine innovation, technical problem-solving, and close collaboration to build tools that improve how the organization operates. With a strong emphasis on practical execution and modern technology, they are investing in scalable internal systems that can drive long-term operational impact.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Full Stack Power Platform Engineer who combines deep Power Platform/Dataverse expertise, production C#/.NET and Vue/TypeScript engineering skills, and hands-on release ownership. You will help architect, build, and productionize an interconnected suite of internal applications and modules spanning Atlas, project management, inventory management, procurement, and future AI-powered capabilities. This is a hands-on technical-lead role: you will establish practical engineering standards and architecture while continuing to write production code and work directly with business leadership.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Power Platform and Dataverse environments: users, teams, security roles, auditing, solution configuration, and environment health.
- Design, build, test, and operate bounded C#/.NET backend services (Azure Functions, isolated worker) for approved integrations and compliance-supportive controls, including a service that ingests versioned engineering data bundles, validates and normalizes them, and performs controlled Dataverse upserts.
- Own provisioning, deployment, and secret/identity configuration for Azure Functions and comparable production services.
- Serve as hands-on technical lead for Code App delivery: build and maintain Code Apps in Vue and TypeScript, and set engineering standards (typed contracts, testing, security, code review, release readiness).
- Review and refactor AI-assisted citizen-developed Code Apps for maintainability and conformance with shared data contracts.
- Coach citizen developers on software-design fundamentals, safe use of AI-generated code, and testing/source-control practices.
- Define and run ALM across dev/test/production; own solution packaging, versioning, deployment promotion, and rollback procedures.
- Build and maintain CI/CD automation using PAC CLI, Power Platform pipelines, Azure DevOps, and/or GitHub Actions.
- Partner with the Solution Architect on the canonical Dataverse model; deploy, seed, verify, and troubleshoot model changes using repository tooling.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one production business application from architecture and implementation through deployment and operational support.
- Extensive hands-on experience delivering and administering Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse solutions.
- Demonstrated professional C#/.NET experience building and operating production backend/integration services (API versioning, authorization, async workflows, resilience, observability).
- Experience with Dataverse tables, relationships, security roles, teams, auditing, business rules, and environment administration.
- Experience implementing Power Platform ALM: managed solutions, source control, environment promotion.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and operating .NET Azure Functions (isolated worker), including async/file-based processing, idempotency, retry/reconciliation, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience with managed identities, secure secret storage, and secure CI/CD deployment of Azure services.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production Vue and TypeScript web applications.
- Experience establishing code review, automated tests, and quality gates for a team with mixed development experience.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to document architecture and explain technical tradeoffs to business stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and comfortable building software in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly while independently validating generated code, tests, and technical decisions.
