About the Role:
Join our US client on their mission to build stronger reporting and business intelligence capabilities across the company. We are looking for a Data Engineer to join their collaborative team and design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure that powers Finance and other key business functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, building scalable pipelines and models, and partnering with stakeholders to turn business needs into efficient technical solutions.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for reporting and business intelligence.
Implement automated data validation, monitoring, and error-handling processes.
Connect multiple disparate datasets into unified reporting solutions.
Develop custom reports using finance, accounting, marketing, HR, and operations data.
Create scalable data models optimized for business intelligence and downstream analytics.
Maintain cloud data infrastructure to ensure strong performance, storage efficiency, and availability.
Collaborate with stakeholders, analytics engineers, and software teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries, warehouse loads, and pipeline bottlenecks.
Improve data quality, governance, and lineage across systems.
What We’re Looking For:
3–5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Software Engineering.
Advanced SQL skills, including window functions, query optimization, complex joins, and indexing strategies.
Proficiency in Python for data processing and scripting.
Experience with data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Amazon Redshift.
Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and code review practices.
Strong understanding of scalable data modeling for reporting and analytics.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
Proficient English level.
