About the Company
Our client is an innovative consumer app company in the memory and journaling space, helping families and individuals preserve meaningful life moments through video. They are a remote-first team with over 13 years in the market and are building thoughtful, emotionally resonant products used by millions. With strong ownership, product care, and collaboration at their core, they are shaping digital experiences that feel warm, intuitive, and lasting.
About the Role
We're looking for a UX/UI Designer who is obsessed with the user journey — someone who deeply understands how and why a screen exists, its various states, and most importantly, how a user flows through the experience. You'll work within an established design system and visual style to design wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that bring clarity and momentum to the product. You'll collaborate closely with the Product Lead, CEO, and front-end engineers to shape how features come to life and ensure the product remains cohesive as it evolves. This role requires someone proactive, highly autonomous, pragmatic, and confident balancing user experience, visual quality, and engineering constraints.
You Will:
Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and prototypes for a consumer iOS product, from concept through final developer handoff.
Map out how users move through the product — understanding the "why" behind each screen and its states, not just the visual layer.
Partner closely with the Product Lead, CEO, and engineering team to define flows, constraints, and tradeoffs early in the process.
Work within the existing Figma design system and component library, contributing to it as the product evolves without disrupting its established style.
Prototype interactions quickly using Figma and AI tools to validate ideas before development.
Deliver clear specs, states, and edge cases so engineers can ship designs cleanly.
Advocate for the user experience while staying pragmatic about scope, speed, and technical constraints.
Help modernize and improve an existing product without disrupting its overall coherence.
About You:
Your Background:
5+ years of UX/UI design experience, with strong experience designing consumer iOS apps.
A demonstrated obsession with user journeys — able to show this through wireframes, prototypes, and user flow work in a portfolio.
Strong command of mobile interaction design, hierarchy, typography, spacing, and visual polish.
Working knowledge of Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, and prototyping.
Experience designing with engineering constraints in mind and delivering production-ready handoffs.
Comfort working within an established design system rather than building one from scratch.
Excellent communication skills — comfortable in a distributed, English-speaking environment.
Self-directed, decisive, and highly organized.
Pragmatic and collaborative, with strong product judgment and comfort navigating ambiguity.
Moves fast without sacrificing UX quality.
Nice to Have:
Experience contributing to a production design system (rather than leading a full rebrand or redesign).
Experience with video, media, or content-heavy consumer products.
Experience working on long-lived products with an existing user base.
Ability to clearly explain design rationale and tradeoffs to non-designers.
Experience improving and modernizing existing interfaces without disrupting user trust.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: $4,500–$5,500 USD/month
Benefits:
Flexible PTO, including paid sick time
3-month paid parental leave after 1 year
1-month paid sabbatical at the 5-year anniversary
Company laptop and mobile device stipend
$5,000+ in wellness, pet-care and family-care, professional development, and home office stipends
