Our client is a fast-growing US-based flooring company serving residential remodeling projects across the United States. With a team of approximately 40 employees and consistent year-over-year growth, they are expanding their operations to support increasing demand. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality service through strong collaboration, operational excellence, and a customer-first approach.
About the role
Join our US client as a Purchasing Specialist and play a key role in supporting the company's purchasing and operations functions. You'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager, Sales team, Project Managers, and vendors to ensure materials are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time for flooring projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys fast-paced environments, is highly organized, and loves improving processes. Beyond purchasing, you'll help optimize workflows, support operational initiatives, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process by reviewing project requirements, placing purchase orders, and tracking material deliveries.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm orders, resolve issues, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment to support ongoing projects.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, invoices, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Sales and Project Management teams to ensure materials are ordered according to project timelines.
- Support the sales team by providing material availability, financing information, and processing customer payments when needed.
- Review tax-exempt documentation and assist with monthly sales tax-related administrative tasks.
- Assist with scheduling and other operational activities to help projects run smoothly.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing workflows, increase efficiency, and streamline operational processes.
- Support leadership with additional administrative, operational, and special projects as business needs evolve.
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, operations, supply chain, or a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
- Experience using ERP, purchasing, or inventory management software (RFMS experience is a strong plus but not required).
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience working with vendors, purchase orders, inventory, and order tracking.
- Flooring, construction, or building materials industry experience is a plus.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and coachable with a continuous improvement mindset.
