Our client is a growing U.S.-based company scaling its finance operations. The Controller currently oversees the full finance function and is looking to bring in a strong accounting professional to support and optimize core processes.
Overview
We are looking for a Jr Accounting Assistant to support the finance team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and day-to-day accounting operations.
Working closely with Jonny and the finance team, you'll help process transactions, reconcile payments, and maintain accurate financial records. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is eager to learn and grow, as training will be provided on the company's internal systems and processes.
Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
Process and reconcile customer and vendor payments
Match payments against invoices and supporting documentation
Assist with bank reconciliations and transaction matching
Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online and other internal systems
Help clear daily payment transactions
Support shipping/payment reconciliation processes
Prepare reports and maintain accounting documentation
Follow established SOPs and internal accounting procedures
Assist the finance team with administrative accounting tasks
Work closely with Jonny and the finance team to complete daily operational tasks
Communicate proactively regarding discrepancies or blockers
Support ongoing process improvements as needed
1 year of experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Experience with QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting software
Experience processing payments and reconciling transactions
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow established processes and work collaboratively
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
Nice to have:
Experience with Bill.com
Experience working with U.S.-based companies
Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, or Monday.com
Degree (or ongoing studies) in Accounting or a related field
Valid U.S. visa (preferred, but not required) for occasional travel and training opportunities
Schedule: Full-time, aligned with U.S. Eastern or Central Time. The schedule is generally daytime hours, with some flexibility to briefly reconnect later in the evening (if needed) to finalize end-of-day payment processing.
Full-time, remote position.
