About the Company
Our client is a growing boutique firm in the quality of earnings and financial due diligence space, supporting investors through accounting-focused diligence work. As an early-stage company, they offer the opportunity to join at the ground level, work closely with leadership, and take on meaningful responsibility as the business grows.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Due Diligence / Quality of Earnings professional who can own engagements from kickoff to delivery. This is not a staff role. You will work directly with the CEO on live deals, lead the analytical workstream, draft client-facing deliverables, and, within six to twelve months, become the primary execution lead on the majority of engagements while the CEO focuses on business development, technical review, and client management.
You will join a small, deal-focused team where your work is the deliverable. No audit busy season. No detached review-note cycle. No pyramid of staff between you and the partner. If you have ever wanted to actually run a QoE instead of building one slice of one, this is that seat.
You Will
Lead the full QoE workstream on buy-side and sell-side engagements for lower-middle-market businesses, typically $1 million to $30 million EBITDA
Build and maintain the Excel databook covering income statement, balance sheet, EBITDA bridge, net working capital, debt and debt-like items, and customer / employee / product analytics
Identify and quantify QoE adjustments (non-recurring, out-of-period, accounting policy, owner-related, normalization) and document supporting rationale clearly enough that a buyer’s lender or attorney can follow it
Calculate net working capital, propose targets and pegs, and analyze monthly NWC trends
Prepare debt and debt-like item schedules
Draft management interview agendas and participate in live management calls
Draft the PowerPoint report: executive summary, key findings, detailed exhibits, and appendices
Manage the information request list and data room workflow with sellers, brokers, and management teams
Communicate directly with clients (buyers, sellers, lenders, brokers) on status, findings, and follow-ups
As the team grows, provide technical review on engagements led by other team members
About You
Your Background
3+ years of financial due diligence or Quality of Earnings experience
Demonstrated experience executing the full QoE workstream, not just one or two sections in isolation
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting, including the ability to evaluate cash-basis and tax-basis financials for smaller private targets and convert them into something analyzable
Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, dynamic arrays, clean databook structure, no hardcodes in formula cells
Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to translate analysis into a clean, client-ready report
Excellent written and spoken English. You will be on live calls with US clients, brokers, and sellers
A strong bias toward ownership. You chase down information, raise issues early, and finish what you start
Comfort working in a flat, founder-led environment with no bureaucracy and no hand-holding
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $4,000 - $5,000 USD/month
Unlimited PTO + US holidays.
Company laptop can be provided.
Bonus structure may be offered.
