At Near
At Near, we connect top talent in Latin America with exciting remote opportunities at U.S.-based companies. Our mission is to create better lives by fostering a remote work culture that transcends borders.
About the Company:
Our client, Vesper, is an innovative venture-building studio and family office developing a portfolio of operating businesses across events, hospitality, luxury consumer products, media, investment, and private client services. They are building AI-first operating systems that reduce unnecessary headcount, remove repetitive administrative work, improve decision-making, and help their lean team execute across multiple fast-moving businesses at once.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an AI Developer and Technical Generalist who combines technical mastery with grit and confidence. You’ll spend roughly 80% of your time building practical AI tools, autonomous agents, and workflow automations, and 20% supporting generalist IT and technical needs across the business. This role requires someone who is practical, commercially minded, takes initiative in the face of ambiguity, and can translate high-level business problems directly into high-quality technical outputs without prescriptive hand-holding.
You Will:
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents, custom automations, and workflow tools to solve operational problems (e.g., inbox triage, research agents, CRM processes, and daily decision summaries).
- Write custom code to build integrations and connect systems via APIs, custom scripts, and modern automation platforms like Zapier, Make, or n8n.
- Turn unstructured data (emails, voice notes, PDFs, spreadsheets) into structured outputs and actionable team deliverables.
- Integrate business platforms, including Notion, Google Workspace, email, calendars, databases, and CRMs.
- Build robust systems with clear confidence levels, logging, error handling, SOP documentation, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows.
- Dedicate approximately 20% of your capacity to broad technical support, including Notion workspace maintenance, domain/website support, password management rollout, data migrations, and general IT troubleshooting.
- Work directly across the client's diverse business portfolio (events, media, forum, luxury consumer brands, finance) to streamline operations and remove manual drag.
About You:
Your Background:
- Strong programming background with proficiency in universal languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to build agentic AI and custom integrations (approx. 60% coding / 40% low-code split).
- Proven hands-on experience building AI-enabled tools, agents, or automations using LLMs, APIs, and workflow orchestration.
- Proven capability to independently translate high-level business briefs and messy requirements into practical technical outputs.
- Strong understanding of integrating email, calendars, databases, CRMs, and spreadsheets with custom scripts or low-code tools.
- Practical experience designing robust workflows with exception handling, escalation rules, and structured data extraction.
- Excellent communication skills — comfortable collaborating asynchronously and directly in an English-speaking environment.
- Low-ego, self-motivated, and emotionally mature — willing and happy to tackle both high-level AI development and routine IT/technical support tasks.
- Highly adaptable and able to thrive under ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience with vector search, RAG, agent frameworks, function calling, and complex workflow orchestration.
- Proficiency with Notion, Google Workspace, Zapier, Make, n8n, and HubSpot.
- Experience building internal tools for executives, family offices, agencies, or fast-moving startups.
- Background in web scraping, data extraction, or automated lead generation/CRM outreach workflows.
- Basic front-end or dashboard creation skills.
- Security-conscious mindset around permissions, API keys, and sensitive data handling.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: Compensation in USD
- 100% remote work, flexible schedule (fixed daily hours with at least a 2-hour overlap with the UK)
- 28 days of PTO
