About the Role

Join our client as their Finance Controller and play a critical role in building and strengthening the company's accounting operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys both hands-on accounting work and leading operational improvements.

You will work closely with the company's Finance leader and collaborate with the accounting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain clean financial records, and improve accounting processes. As the company continues to grow, you'll become the go-to accounting expert, helping troubleshoot complex accounting issues, supporting the month-end close process, and mentoring junior team members.

This is a remote, contractor role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial adjustments to maintain accurate financial statements.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Procurement processes while partnering with functional leaders.
• Troubleshoot accounting issues and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in QuickBooks.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit and tax preparation activities.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial workflows to support the company's continued growth.
• Mentor and support junior accounting team members while serving as the accounting subject matter expert.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a Controller, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Manager role.
• Strong experience managing month-end close, financial statements, general ledger, reconciliations, and GAAP accounting.
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
• Experience supporting or overseeing AP, AR, Billing, and Procurement processes.
• Ability to identify accounting discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior accounting staff is highly preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency.
