Chief of Staff
LATAM | Remote | Contractor
About Near
Near is a recruiting partner specializing in placing top talent from Latin America into high-growth US companies. We help startups and scaling businesses build high-performing remote teams by identifying exceptional operators, leaders, and specialists across growth, operations, and product functions.
About the client
Our client is a US-based education and career acceleration company focused on helping students secure competitive finance roles at top-tier institutions. They are currently scaling and strengthening their internal operating infrastructure to support the next stage of growth.
About the role
We are looking for a high-agency Chief of Staff & Growth Operations leader who will act as the central operating layer across sales, marketing, hiring, and execution. This role functions as the right hand to leadership and is responsible for turning a fast-moving, multi-channel growth engine into a structured, scalable operating system.
The ideal candidate is a builder-operator who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly between strategy and execution, and takes full ownership of outcomes. This is not a traditional strategic Chief of Staff role — it requires hands-on execution, systems thinking, and direct involvement in building teams, processes, and operational infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive hiring across sales, marketing, and operations, ensuring consistent attraction and selection of high-performing talent
- Build structured recruiting, onboarding, and talent development systems to scale A-player teams
- Coach and develop sales and marketing team members, driving accountability, performance, and clarity
- Manage and optimize marketing and sales operations, including coordination of agencies, vendors, and external partners
- Develop and implement playbooks, workflows, and operating systems across revenue-generating functions
- Act as an execution partner to leadership, driving high-priority initiatives across the business
- Improve cross-functional alignment between sales, marketing, and operations to ensure consistent execution
- Support continuous improvement of systems, processes, and team performance across the growth engine
Requirements
Must-haves
- Proven ability to hire, attract, and evaluate A-players using structured and repeatable hiring processes
- Executive-level ownership mindset: low ego, direct communication style, high accountability, and emotional maturity under pressure
- Strong track record of coaching, developing, and managing performance of teams in fast-paced environments
- Hands-on experience in sales and/or marketing operations, including managing agencies, building playbooks, and improving processes
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to drive clarity, alignment, and execution across teams
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice to have
- Experience in partnerships, business development, or outbound relationship building
- Exposure to organic media operations, content workflows, or performance QA processes
- Familiarity with AI tools, automation systems, or operational efficiency improvements
- Experience with data analysis or building reporting/operational dashboards
Benefits and engagement details
- Competitive compensation depending on seniority and scope (Base Salary + performance bonus)
- 100% remote
- Contractor engagement model
- Flexible PTO with results-oriented culture
- Work aligned with US time zones, with autonomy in execution schedule
If you are a high-agency operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys building systems, teams, and operational excellence across multiple functions, we would love to hear from you.
