About the role
The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for applying all the customer collection payments to the related invoices, he/she will also manage automatic collection processes, including Direct Debit collections, processing batch and stand alone Credit Card collections, as well as manage other financial collection tools; the process is deployed in several countries, currencies and also several different banks. The specialist will be part of a team that processes billing and collections, and it is expected that he/she will also take part in those tasks.
Note: This is a remote, contractor role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the AR customer statements daily by booking the cash received by customers to aid the collection specialists in their dunning processes.
- Download statements and transactions lists from several banks and accounts on a daily basis, including several electronic lockboxes of checks. Prepare the Excel or .csv files to be uploaded in the ERP Systems.
- Balance entries posted in Ledger and reconcile Bank deposits on a daily basis.
- Be proactive in looking for process, data, and communication improvements
- Assist with customer and internal inquiries via Zendesk
- Assist with annual audits as needed.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the rest of the Finance team to meet the monthly Accounting Closing Schedule.
- Perform tasks related to billing and collection processes as needed
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of relevant experience in AR/Cash Application processes.
- General knowledge in Accounting.
- Proficiency in processing high volume cash posting transactions.
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
- Thrive in an independent work environment, where you can take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Ability to manage the accounting deadline
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel using formulas as VLOOKUP, CONCAT, LEFT, MID, RIGHT REPLACE, Pivot Tables; as well as experience with Google applications and ERP Systems.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Compensation range: $18,000 - $24,000 per year. Please note that the final salary offer may vary based on the candidate’s seniority, specific skill set, and performance throughout the evaluation and interview process.
