Our client is a US-based full-service finance and accounting firm supporting startups and high-growth companies. They partner with founder-led consumer and retail brands to help them scale with discipline, improve financial clarity, and build enterprise value. They operate through integrated CFO pods, where each pod includes a Client CFO, a Director of Finance, and a controllership/bookkeeping team.
About the role
We’re hiring a Director of Finance to serve as the analytical and operational backbone of the CFO pod structure. This person will support a Client CFO across multiple client accounts and own core FP&A execution, financial modeling, reporting, and KPI infrastructure. This is a strong fit for someone who combines technical finance depth, commercial judgment, and the ability to operate confidently in client-facing, multi-client environments. The role offers deep exposure to sophisticated finance work across consumer brands, with a clear path for growth.
What you’ll do
- Partner with a Client CFO across multiple client engagements
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models, including three-statement models, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Own budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
- Prepare executive, board, investor, and strategic planning materials
- Support analysis around margin, demand planning, pricing, inventory, and unit economics
- Translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Step into client conversations when needed and represent the firm professionally
- Support strategic finance projects including fundraising, diligence, and transaction-related work
- Improve workflows using Excel, Google Sheets, AI tools, and automation
- Help scale capacity within the CFO pod model
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance
- Prior experience in a multi-client or portfolio-based finance role is required (e.g. fractional finance, consulting, PE operating environments, or multi-entity support)
- Strong background in DTC/CPG
- Experience in omnichannel, retail, wholesale, or ecommerce environments is highly relevant
- Investment banking or private equity experience strongly preferred
- Advanced three-statement modeling and strong analytical capability
- Strong commercial sensibility and ability to advise operators directly
- Comfortable in client-facing settings and working across multiple priorities at once
- Familiarity with accounting and reporting tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, and BI/reporting platforms
- Comfortable using AI and technology tools in workflows

- Compensation: $65k–$85k all-in annually, depending on structure and fit.
