Our client is a U.S.-based engineering company specializing in fire alarm system design. They support commercial and industrial projects by creating technical drawings, layouts, and documentation used for permitting and installation purposes.
The team is growing and is looking for a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support drafting operations and help streamline project delivery.
We are seeking an experienced CAD Drafter to join a growing engineering team. This role will focus primarily on 2D drafting work using AutoCAD, supporting fire alarm design projects by translating markups, sketches, PDFs, and existing drawings into accurate CAD documents.
This is a production-focused role where attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability are critical. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, following detailed instructions, and delivering high-quality technical drawings with minimal errors.

Create and revise 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
Convert hand sketches, scanned plans, and PDF documents into CAD drawings.
Update and modify existing CAD files based on markups and project requirements.
Place devices, annotations, and project details according to provided specifications.
Generate final drawing packages and publish documentation in PDF format.
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission.
Maintain organized project files and drawing documentation.
Collaborate with internal team members to ensure project requirements are met.
Follow established drafting standards and templates.
3+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter, CAD Technician, or similar role.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Experience creating and modifying technical or engineering drawings.
Ability to work from markups, PDFs, sketches, and existing CAD files.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
English proficiency sufficient for day-to-day communication with a U.S.-based manager (B2+).
Valid U.S. visa with the ability to travel for onboarding and training.
Experience with fire alarm systems.
Experience with fire protection, electrical, MEP, or engineering-related drafting.
Exposure to construction or engineering consulting environments.
3D CAD experience.
Experience supporting U.S.-based projects.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm EST time zone.
