We are looking for an experienced and detailed Merchandising Manager to support our Product team to optimize our product lines across all channels and to inform business strategy. Utilizing consumer trends, customer insights, buying patterns, sales and inventory metrics to inform merchandising strategy. Working cross functionally with finance, operations and marketing to implement effective plans and monitor success. The merchandising manager will be highly analytical and have a strong capacity for turning data into actionable insights.
Conduct market and competitor research to inform seasonal line planning
Monitor category sales and identify trends the inform merchandise planning strategies
Develop supply strategies that will minimize stockouts while maximizing inventory turns.
Provide guidance about selling patterns, the timing of future product launches, and launch philosophies
Managing assortment mix in line with category strategy, revenues and gross margin target as well as inventory levels
Prepare financial and statistical reports for merchandising to initiate decision making
Develop appropriate tools to perform analysis to ensure effective management of all existing categories and new development strategies
Design various methods to analyze product performance leading to product lifecycle planning and liquidation strategies
Ensuring product selection is aligned with market trends
Analyzing product performance & sell-through tracking on a monthly/seasonal basis
Works cross functionally with web, marketing and operations teams to optimize selling potential
Conducts and presents in-depth sales analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities on a quarterly basis
Guide planning sales activity and markdown execution plans in close collaboration with marketing and operations
Provides recommendation for seasonal line plan based on market trends and historic performance
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Sales driven and results oriented
Very strong analytical skills and highly proficient in Excel
Strong presentation skills and converting data into actionable recommendations
Passion for sustainability and positive environmental impact
Some knowledge of sustainable product practices or business models is a plus
Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Must be able to make decisions and take own initiative
Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Ability to coach and train all levels of employees on subject expert knowledge
