US-Based client is looking for an amazing Engineering Manager, Data Engineering!

The Client's data engineering team is a crucial cornerstone of Client's operations. It's a highly collaborative team, and it works closely alongside customer success, data science, and product. The responsibility of the data engineering team is to manage the onboarding of new customers and maintenance of data pipelines. In a highly constrained, enterprise environment, creativity and simplicity are required in order to adapt our existing automation to any new potential deployment while introducing as little new complexity as possible. Strong habits of testing, monitoring, and alerting are required skillsets for data engineers.

As manager, you'll ultimately be accountable for the flow of data throughout all client's operations. This is a Director-track role, and success here will be rewarded with significant career growth. You should be natually curious and excited to learn more about the nitty gritty details of how electricity is bought, sold, and traded globally. Your responsibilities will also include hiring to help grow the team. It's our intention to invest significant resources in this team over the next 18 months, and we're looking for someone who's excited for all the challenges that the sales team are ready to throw at us!

We're a globally distributed team, and flexibility around working hours will be important. We are only hiring in Eastern/Central timezones for this role.

You'll succeed in this role if you have/are:

• 5+ Years as a Data Engineer/Manager
• You can work with large-scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems, and modeling environments. Examples include technologies like Kafka, Spark, Hive, NoSQL stores, etc
• Experience with data architecture, data modeling, schema design and software development
• Experience in SQL or similar languages, and development experience in at least one language (Python, Java, Scala etc..)
