This is a fully remote role to work for one of our clients, a US-based private equity firm. They are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will support by maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our investment operations through meticulous financial management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Financial Operations & Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions across multiple fund entities
  • Process and reconcile daily cash transactions, ensuring proper classification and documentation
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Execute journal entries with supporting documentation for various transactions including management fees, expenses, and capital calls
• Accounts Management
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, including vendor invoice processing, approval workflows, and payment execution
  • Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoice generation, collection follow-up, and aging analysis
  • Coordinate with portfolio companies and service providers to ensure timely payment processing
• Fund Support
  • Month-end and quarter-end closing processes with detailed reconciliation work
• Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain organized filing systems for all accounting documentation and supporting materials
  • Ensure compliance with fund agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing detailed transaction support and documentation
  • Support tax preparation efforts by organizing and providing necessary financial data

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or investment management
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and general ledger systems
• Solid understanding of GAAP, accruals, and fundamental accounting principles and practices
• Experience with multi-entity accounting structures preferred
• Knowledge of private equity or alternative investment operations a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Professional communication skills for interaction with US-based teams and external service providers across different time zones (Eastern Time would be base time zone)
• Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated workspace

• Compensation range: $30,000 - $42,000 per year. Please note that the final offer may vary based on the candidate's seniority, specific skill set, and performance throughout the evaluation and interview process.
