This is a role for our client, a San Francisco-based design-build studio known for integrating work across the disciplines of interior, furniture, and graphic design. Their team is growing and they are looking to add a new member to their crew, so if you're looking to be part of a dynamic team you can join them on their mission as an Interior Design Assistant.

Overview


We are looking for a versatile and proactive Remote Design Assistant to support an interior architecture practice based in San Francisco. This is a full-time, remote position ideal for someone with 1- 4 years of professional experience, a strong design eye, and solid technical skills in tools like AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.

You will collaborate closely with the founder to support both the creative and operational sides of the business, contributing to technical drawings, product sourcing, and backend logistics. The ideal candidate has a background in interior design or interior architecture, thrives in independent work environments, and is excited to support a creative solo practitioner with a growing project pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the founder to support both the creative and operational aspects of the business.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D); Create and compile all schematic drawings (i.e. construction documents CDs)  including floor plans, RCPs, electrical plans, elevations, sections, custom details, and site plans. 
  • Produce realistic 3D Renderings of interior and exterior spaces using 3D modeling software (Revit or similar). 
  • Assist with product sourcing and material selections for interior architecture projects.
  • Support backend logistics, including procurement, vendor coordination, inventory and warehousing management.
  • Create visual materials and presentation decks using Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.
  • Assist with social media posts (IG)
  • Work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of professional experience in interior design, interior architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D rendering software (Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and GSuite. 
  • Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting.
  • Comfortable handling both creative and operational tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a collaborative mindset, adaptability, initiative, and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM PST.
