Underwriter ($2k - $3,5k Monthly)

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Underwriter to join their team and support key financial decision-making processes. This role will involve financial analysis, risk assessment, forecasting, and working closely with senior management to ensure sound investment and underwriting decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with financial modeling, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Support the CFO and senior management in functional planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts/budgets, tracking performance, and delivering insights.

Reporting & Presentation:
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and presentations for executives and the Board of Directors.
- Assist in the fundraising process, providing exposure to venture capital funds.

Risk Assessment & Underwriting:
- Analyze potential investments, including market research and financial due diligence.
- Perform acquisition due diligence, reviewing leases, financial conditions, historical property performance, and assumptions.
- Work closely with the FP&A, Accounting, and Finance Operations teams to identify risks and opportunities in property-level P&Ls and implement improvement strategies.

Financial Modeling & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain department-specific financial models and dashboards to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Build complex financial models to support strategic decision-making and execution.
- Improve financial insights by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.

Capital Raising & Strategic Planning:
- Maintain and update the company’s operating model to support equity and debt capital raises.
- Work with the executive team on various rounds of complex financing.
- Assist in scoping and implementing an enterprise planning solution for the Corporate Finance function.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by mutual agreement.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: Prior experience in underwriting, finance, real estate, or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess risk, analyze financial statements, and interpret complex data.
- Financial Modeling: Proficiency in building financial models and forecasting.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to executives.
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive teams.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a keen eye for accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
