Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounting, preparing financial records and reports, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books, assisting with annual audits and investigation of discrepancies, and financial analysis. In addition to the technical skills required for this position, you must be able to train and mentor junior staff. You will play a critical role in the company's day-to-day operations and Accounting/Finance team. 

Responsibilities: 

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets
• Prepare financial analyses and reports
• Assist with annual audit preparations
• Provide schedules and commentary on operating results and variances to budget
• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
• Continue to develop and implement new and amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
• Perform other related duties and support junior staff as assigned 
• Familiar with preparing and filing unsecured property taxes, sales and use taxes, local business taxes, and business license renewals. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Strong organization skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in NetSuite and Excel.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Experience using Concur and Blackline.
