This is a full time, 100% remote role as a contractor for our client, a US-based fintech. They are a rapidly growing accounting firm that serves over 300 startups annually, now transitioning to a tech-enabled company by building innovative software solutions to support and automate our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.

• Contribute to frontend development using JavaScript frameworks as needed.

• Work closely with the team to identify areas for automation and implement solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product scalability and reliability.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance.

Skills

• At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript (desirably including frameworks such as Next.js, Node.js and TypeScript).

• Hands-on experience with backend and middleware layers; about 70% of the role focuses on backend development.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL (PSQL) and cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable.

• Active GitHub profile showcasing previous projects or contributions.

• Excellent communication skills with professional-level English proficiency.

• Ability to work autonomously and proactively in a remote setting.

• Passion for building and shipping impactful products.

• Experience working with US-based startups or in a similar fast-paced environment.

• Exposure to financial technology or accounting-related systems is a plus.
