About the Role
Our client, a leader in apparel decoration with over 45 years of industry expertise, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk II. This role will support the Accounts Payable team, providing backup for AP Clerk I positions, assisting with batch processing, handling entry-level tasks for Maroon U, and performing other assigned administrative duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Vouch invoices and reconcile statements of larger inventory vendor accounts.
- Review non-inventory purchase orders and post to the correct general ledger account. Assist with batch reviews and guide with posting batches that require corrections.
- Research “New Returns” received from purchasing team to determine if they can be entered into the accounting system.
- Accurately enter credit card expenses in the accounting system for review.
- Aid in the research and resolving of receiving issues.
- Review and handle the upkeep of the recurring list including the entry of invoices on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
- Handle all entry level Maroon U AP duties including reviewing statements, receiving packets, vouching, monitoring emails, and entering expenses.
- Assist with check runs and credit card payments according to procedure.
- Completion of moderately complex transactions as assigned.
- Support AP Clerk I positions with invoice sorting, matching and vouching, and other administrative duties.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and to manage multiple accounts.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Knowledge of purchase orders and their documentation.
- Computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work closely with a team, as well as individually, in an office setting.
- 1-2 years' experience as an AP Clerk I or 2-3 years’ experience in a previous accounting positions.
