An opportunity exists for an Accounting Supervisor for one of our US-based clients. This role involves overseeing a team of 3-5 accountants, handling month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and a solid foundation in accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support for daily activities.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and support organizational goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development for the accounting team.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and variances that inform decision-making.
- Compile and analyze financial statements to support strategic planning.
- Utilize NetSuite for accounting and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is desired.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in NetSuite preferred.
- Extensive experience with general ledger and accounting close processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
