Overview
The Video Editor’s role is to transform raw video footage into high-quality finished assets that can be used across paid advertising and social media platforms. The Video Editor works directly with the Content Producer and brand-level Marketing Managers to align on necessary content that will be used in marketing campaigns to promote various brand initiatives. As a Video Editor, you should have expertise in video editing techniques and technologies, a deep understanding of videography principles, and experience with social media and performance marketing trends. You will work closely with our production team to deliver content that elevates our brands and drives increased engagement and performance across all channels.
Responsibilities:
Edit video footage from in-house productions and external partners for paid and social channels, including but not limited to product flatlays, UGC, talking head, team lifestyle videos, retail highlights, photoshoot BTS and more.
Occasionally film in-studio or on-set content, using provided company camera or smartphone.
Work directly with the Content Producer to ensure all final video assets align with marketing objectives.
Create multiple iterations of each final video asset in order to properly test and assess paid advertising performance.
Collaborate with the creative team to ensure a cohesive visual style is used across all video content for each brand.
Elevate our current video content strategy with higher quality edits and expert colour grading.
Use new AI technologies such as voiceover and caption generators to enhance video hook rate and conversion performance.
Incorporate music, graphics, transitions and visual effects with a focus on driving thumb-stop and engagement.
Ensure all final videos are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Manage internal storage databases and ensure proper management of both raw and final assets.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in video editing.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience in related fields.
Strong portfolio showcasing previous video editing work with a focus on paid performance advertising for Meta platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook.
Clear understanding of how to structure performance-driven ads, with impactful “hooks” that drive thumb-stop.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere and the ability to communicate editing notes/feedback clearly.
Strong grasp of “trending” social media editing techniques, including a deep familiarity with CapCut.
Strong sense of color grading, using DaVinci Resolve or similar.
Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships and deadlines at a given time.
Soft skills:
Self-starter who takes initiative and a strong team player.
Strong grasp of brand strategy, creative direction and tone of voice.
