About the role
Our client is looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and adaptable finance and accounting professional interested in the crypto industry. The team is small, so the ability to adapt and the desire to learn new skills is necessary. The successful candidate will not only have the finance and accounting technical chops but will also be inquisitive, flexible, and have a great attitude. If this sounds like you, apply below!
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for standard month-end close activities, including booking entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing work papers.
- Prepare and maintain cash reporting.
- Compile and generate financial statements for investors.
- Review and process employee expenses.
- Facilitate payments in both FIAT and Cryptocurrencies.
- Handle payroll-related tasks as needed.
- Undertake ad hoc operational work as necessary, showing flexibility and adaptability.
- Understand and embrace the dynamic nature of a small team, being willing to roll up your sleeves and perform hands-on work when required.
- Proactively assess current processes without waiting for direction, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes. Take the lead in optimizing workflows.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel.
- Proficiency in accounting software like Quickbooks is desired, but experience with other software such as Oracle or JD Edwards is highly valued.
- Experience with global payroll.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
- A quick learner and executor, able to grasp new concepts and implement them rapidly.
- Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to work with sensitive data, including maintaining confidentiality regarding employee salaries.
- Flexibility to handle a range of tasks beyond traditional accounting, showing adaptability and resourcefulness.
- A proven self-starter who can work efficiently and productively in a fully remote environment.
- A versatile problem-solver capable of independent problem-solving with minimal guidance, delivering tasks at least 80% complete.
- Willingness to engage in hands-on work, even with repetitive tasks.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Crypto knowledge is highly desirable, and an interest in the crypto industry is considered a positive attribute.
- Background at startups or experience thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments is highly desirable.
